![]() ![]() ![]() "I will tear from you anything Adam gives you. Hawk placed a finger beneath Adrienne's chin and tilted her head back, forcing her to meet his flinty gaze. "synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title. Despite her uncertainty about following the promptings of her own passionate heart, Adrienne's reservations were no match for Hawk's determination to keep her by his side. Not even the barriers of time and space would keep him from winning her love. ![]() She had a perfect "no" on her perfect lips for the notorious laird, but Hawk swore she would whisper his name with desire, begging for the passion he longed to ignite within her. Coerced into a marriage with Hawk, Adrienne vowed to keep him at arm's length-but his sweet seduction played havoc with her resolve. Captive in a century not her own, entirely too bold, too outspoken, she was an irresistible challenge to the sixteenth-century rogue. ![]() No woman could refuse his touch, but no woman ever stirred his heart-until a vengeful fairy tumbled Adrienne de Simone out of modern-day Seattle and into medieval Scotland. Katee robert desperate measures5/29/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() So, I would have liked it better if there had been more of his POV than hers, but the story was still fun to read. However, I did find myself looking forward more to Jafar’s point of view of the story than Jasmine’s as he became my favorite character. The story is told from both Jasmine and Jafar’s point of views. And while Jafar is the “villain” he never does anything against Jasmine’s will other than locking her away for her safety, which made it all the better for me to root for them as a couple after they had been pining for one another for 5 years. There is a lot of Daddy!Kink, consensual-non-consent, and explicit sex scenes so this book may not be for everyone. The relationship between Jasmine and Jafar was kinky and twisted. I thought the plot was decent enough to carry the story along and found myself wanting to dive deeper into the world that the author created in this series.įull of sin and promised pleasure.” ~ Jasmine ~ I enjoyed this book quite a bit the more it went on. “You’re in my world now, Jasmine.” ~ Jafar ~ * This book was purchased through Amazon * Torn between the two, she has to decide which she wants more. Jasmine yearns for her freedom from her tyrannical father, but also cannot deny how Jafar makes her feel. The first book in the series begins with Desperate Measures which is a dark and steamy retelling of Aladdin featuring Jafar and Jasmine as the main characters. In the Wicked Villains series by Katee Robert the good guys finish last and the villains reign triumphant. ![]()

Naomi's Room by Jonathan Aycliffe5/29/2023 ![]() Usually, this leaves me unsatisfied with a book- but now I'm about to complain that this book provides too much explanation! Impossible to please. ![]() I've complained (more than once) that so much ghostly horror doesn't even try to explain itself- and when there are "explanations", they are often disappointingly weak and thin. ![]() ![]() Reading this book reminded me of one of those tightropes I expect a good author to walk. I make what are probably unreasonable demands of authors. I have come to the conclusion that I am a picky reader. In a howling, bumping story of past and present day hell, Jonathan Aycliffe's haunting psychological masterpiece is guaranteed to make you sink to untold depths of teeth-shaking terror. Days later her murdered body is discovered. For Naomi, their beautiful, angelic only child, has disappeared. But, by the end of the day, all Charles and his wife have left are cups of tea and police sympathy. Brimming with excitement, Charles sets off with his daughter Naomi on a Christmas Eve shopping trip to London. ![]() Charles and Laura are a young, happily married couple inhabiting the privileged world of Cambridge academia. ![]()

The Red Tree by Shaun Tan5/29/2023 ![]() ![]() On pages thirteen and fourteen of this short story, the only text used is, “the world is a deaf machine” (Tan 13). Overall, imagery, metaphors, and symbols are used to portray the ideas of depression, conformity, and hope in this short story. Later in her day the weight of the worries the girl carries on her shoulders is depicted through many images and words in disarray. The feelings behind the girl’s struggles are first seen in her bedroom where she pushes to open her bedroom door while there are over a thousand falling leaves gathering in her room. ![]() In the short story “The Red Tree” by Shaun Tan, the progression of a girl’s day along with her fears and worries are displayed in comic form. ![]()

Star wars george lucas sequel trilogy5/28/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() The Jedi have to grow again from scratch, so Luke has to find two- and three-year-olds, and train them. “He puts the word out, so out of 100,000 Jedi, maybe 50 or 100 are left. It starts out a few years after Return of the Jedi and we establish pretty quickly that there’s this underworld, there are these offshoot stormtroopers who started their own planets, and that Luke is trying to restart the Jedi.” ![]() They still have the apparatus of the Republic but they have to get it under control from the gangsters. “The movies are about how Leia - I mean, who else is going to be the leader? - is trying to build the Republic. “Okay, you fought the war, you killed everybody, now what are you going to do?” Rebuilding afterwards is harder than starting a rebellion or fighting the war.” “Episode VII, VIII, and IX would take ideas from what happened after the Iraq War. Here’s what George Lucas had to say about the outlines he handed Disney, as he told to Paul Duncan, in 2019, who then reported it in The Star Wars Archives: 1999-2005. ![]()

Intricate Emotions by J. Ramirez5/28/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The development of the subsequent memory paradigm provided evidence about the functional role of encoding-related neural activity by using it to predict accurate memory retrieval, thereby allowing researchers to directly link brain activity and memory performance ( 22, 23). As such, encoding-related activity in these and other regions could have been related to any number of processes, which may or may not have predicted successful memory formation. At that time, theories had implicated the hippocampus and inferior frontal gyrus in memory formation, but available neuroimaging methods offered no direct evidence for this claim. In a broad sense, the knowledge gap concerning the sources of interpersonal understanding is similar to the situation of memory research 10 years ago. ![]()
